Fascias and Soffits Replaced in Croydon and South London

The fascia is the board that runs along the lower edge of the roof and holds the gutters. The soffit sits beneath it, closing off the underside of the eaves and often providing ventilation to the roof space. Although each does its own job, together they protect the rafters and finish the exterior, so they are frequently repaired or replaced together.

Materials and Finishes

We keep a full range of fascias, soffits and guttering in stock to suit any roof type, ready for fast installation. Options include:

  • uPVC fascias and soffits in white, black, grey and woodgrain finishes
  • Timber soffits for period and character properties
  • Barge boards for gable ends
  • uPVC guttering in black, white, grey and brown
  • Hidden or concealed guttering for a clean roofline
  • Gutter guards to keep leaves and debris out

uPVC or Timber?

Most of our customers choose uPVC fascia & soffit boards because they do not rot, never need painting and only need an occasional wipe down. Timber can still be the right choice on some period homes and in conservation areas, and we are happy to talk through which option suits your property and budget.

Signs Your Roofline Needs Attention

Fascia & soffit problems tend to start small and get worse over time. Look out for these common warning signs:

  • Flaking paint, soft spots or rot on timber boards
  • Cracked, warped or sagging boards
  • Gaps that let birds, wasps or rodents into the roof space
  • Gutters that overflow, drip at the joints or pull away from the wall
  • Damp patches or green streaks on external walls
  • Water pooling around the base of the house

Leaving these issues can lead to rotten rafter ends, damp walls and damage to the roof covering itself. A timely fascia & soffit replacement protects the structure behind and keeps your property looking smart.

Guttering Croydon Properties Can Depend On

Gutters and downpipes do an important job, carrying hundreds of litres of water away from your walls and foundations every time it rains heavily. When they are blocked, cracked or poorly aligned, that water ends up running down brickwork or soaking into the ground beside the house.

We install new guttering systems, replace damaged sections and downpipes, and realign runs so water flows freely to the outlets. Our gutter repairs cover leaking joints, broken brackets, sagging runs and blocked outlets on houses, flats and commercial buildings alike.

Gutter Cleaning and Maintenance

Overflowing gutters are one of the most common reasons for damp inside a property, yet they are often one of the easiest problems to fix. A blocked outlet or a single dropped bracket can send water down the brickwork every time it rains.

Leaves, moss and silt build up quickly, especially on tree-lined streets across South London and Surrey. Regular cleaning keeps water moving and helps us spot small problems early. Fitting gutter guards can reduce how often cleaning is needed.

Our Fascia & Soffit Process

  1. 1

    Assessment

We begin by assessing the extent of the damage and the condition of the rafter ends behind the boards, then explain the options and give you a clear, free quote.

  2. 2

    Removal and Installation

Old boards and gutters are carefully removed, any rotten timber is repaired, and new fascia & soffit boards are fixed securely with ventilation where required. New guttering and downpipes are then fitted with the correct fall.

  3. 3

    Finishing Touches

We clear away all waste and provide photographs of the completed work, so you can see the finished roofline for yourself.

Domestic and Commercial Roofline Work

Our clients include homes, office blocks, multi-occupancy residential properties, schools, nurseries, gyms, retail and other businesses across South East London. Roofline work often goes alongside other jobs, so we can also help with flat roof repairs, tiling & slating and commercial roofing.

Fascia & Soffit FAQs

Should I replace fascias, soffits and gutters at the same time?

It often makes sense. Gutters are fixed to the fascia, so replacing them together saves on access costs and gives a matching, uniform finish.

Can you fit new boards over my old ones?

We prefer to remove old boards so we can check and repair the rafter ends behind. Covering rotten timber only hides the problem.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

At least once a year, ideally in late autumn after the leaves have fallen. Properties near trees may need more frequent cleaning.

How long does a fascia & soffit replacement take?

Most houses take one to three days, depending on the length of the roofline, access and whether any timber repairs are needed.

Is your roofline work guaranteed?

Yes. All of our work comes with a ten-year guarantee for your peace of mind.

How long do uPVC fascias and soffits last?

Good quality uPVC fascias and soffits typically last for decades with very little maintenance. Unlike timber, they will not rot, flake or need repainting, and an occasional wash keeps them looking clean. Most problems we see come from older timber boards that have been left too long, or from cheap capping fitted over rotten wood.

Should fascias and soffits be replaced at the same time as the guttering?

It usually makes sense. The gutters are fixed to the fascia, so the guttering has to come down anyway when the boards are replaced. Fitting new guttering at the same time means one set of access equipment, one visit and a roofline that looks consistent from end to end.

Do you remove the old timber boards or cover them?

Wherever possible we remove the old boards and fit new fascias and soffits to sound timber. Covering rotten wood with uPVC capping hides the problem rather than fixing it, and the rot carries on spreading behind the new boards. We will tell you honestly what we find once the old boards are off.

Can fascias and soffits help with roof ventilation?

Yes. Vented soffits or over-fascia vents let air move through the roof space, which helps prevent condensation and damp in the loft. When we replace your fascias and soffits we check whether your roof needs extra ventilation and include it in the quote if it does.

Do you fit fascias and soffits across Croydon and Surrey?

Yes. We fit fascias and soffits throughout Croydon, Upper Norwood, Crystal Palace and the rest of South London, as well as across Surrey. Quotes are free and there is no obligation to go ahead.

Repaired flat roof above bay window

The work is always carried out to a high standard. They are cheerful, friendly and reliable and leave no mess. The recent job they did – to repair fascia on a flat roof extension was a less straightforward repair and they took time to plan the best action and use the most appropriate materials. We are very pleased with the result.
